Tumours of the Central Nervous System and its Coverings
6-8 May 2008, Athens, Greece
(immediately preceding the 9th European Congress of Neuropathology)
General
The 11th Euro-CNS CME neuropathology training course "Tumours of the Central Nervous System and its Coverings" will be held from 6-8 May 2008, immediately preceding the 9th European Congress of Neuropathology in Athens, Greece. It will be close to the Congress venue. This two-and-a-half day course and workshop covers the current state of the art of classification and grading of CNS tumours, supplemented by relevant neurosurgical and neuroradiological aspects. To some extent, developments in molecular genetics will also be covered. The course is intended for all who are involved in the pathological diagnosis of brain tumours in biopsy specimens: trainees and specialists in pathology, neurosurgery, neurology or neuro-oncology. The course will be given by practising neuropathologists of international reputation. Lectures and microscopic slide sessions will alternate. The course will be given in English. The same course was held earlier in Graz, Austria, in November 2004 and in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in June 2005.
The registration fee of €700 Euro for members, and €800 for non-members, includes catering during the course (daytime). The fee does not include travel expenses, accommodation and other meals than mentioned above. Course participants who also register for the Congress will receive a 80 Euro discount on their registration fee.
