Euro-CNS Neuropathology Training Course
Tumours of the Central Nervous System
2-4 June 2010, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

General
The 16th Euro-CNS neuropathology training course "Tumours of the Central Nervous System" will be held at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam from 2-4 June 2010. In three days this CME course and workshop covers the current state of the art of classification (typing and grading) of CNS tumours, supplemented by lectures about clinical and neuroradiological aspects, and molecular diagnostics relevant for daily clinical practice. The lectures will be given by a group of well known surgical neuropathologists. Histological slides of the whole spectrum of CNS tumours are available, and multiple time slots are planned for personal practical exercise as well as for interaction with the experts.

The course is intended for all involved in the pathological diagnosis of brain tumours: trainees and specialists in (neuro)pathology, neurosurgery, neurology or neuro-oncology. The same course was held earlier Helsinki (2000), Graz (2004), Amsterdam (2005) and Athens (May 2008).

Course Organization
Prof. Johan M. Kros, Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Prof. Pieter Wesseling, Nijmegen, The Netherlands
Prof. Dirk Troost, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Topics/program
Topics include typing and grading of gliomas; the newly recognized rare glioma variants and pitfalls in the histopathological diagnosis. In addition, histopathological aspects of non-glial intracranial tumors as meningiomas will be presented. Basically, the course will cover most of all tumors encountered in the brain and her coverings. You will find the detailed program further down this page.

Course location
The course will be held at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Registration
The registration fee of €775 Euro for members, and €875 for non-members, includes catering during the course (daytime). The fee does not include travel expenses, accommodation and other meals than mentioned above.
